Research that Matters
Through generous funding from the Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada, AUTO 21 and the Alberta Motor Association, the PCA Lab has been able to maintain a high level of productivity in the study of perceptual and cognitive aging. This is reflected in publications in such journals as Spatial Vision, Psychology and Aging, Perception and Psychophysics, and Optometry and Vision Science.
In our lab, we can assess many abilities related to visual health and driving performance. We can evaluate the clarity of your vision, measure eye movements, examine your sensitivity to distractions. We have a set of tools to assess collision risk and will soon be able to offer on-road assessments of driving skills.
